About flying with children
Here are some tips for parents who are flying with an infant. Traveling with a small child can be difficult not only for the parents, but for the child themselves. Many passengers hate sitting next to an infant for fear of having to listen to them cry. But it's generally not the child's fault. We have often observed that it's poor communication skills on the part of the parents, especially a failure to identify the needs of the baby that will lead them to cry. Here are some tips for helping your baby cope with a long airflight.

Flying with a small child
We have been assaulted by the constant wailing of a crying baby, and most of the times the cause of crying is either because the baby is bored, hungry, or sleepy. Yet we are completely baffled to see a child rubbing it's eyes and crying, obviously in need of a nap, and the parents making funny faces at it in an attempt to make it laugh and otherwise stop crying. Unfortunately for the child, these out of touch parents have neglected to purchase a seat for the child, so there is no place for them to sleep except in a parent's arm. It's truly a shame to fly on a long trip without purchasing a seat for the child. Most airlines will charge half price for a ticket so there is really no excuse except extreme miserliness or a lack of experience flying with children when it comes to depriving your child of a safe place to sit and sleep.

Speaking of safety while flying, even if you have been a good parent and purchased a seat for your newborn baby, they're going to want to sit on your lap at some point in the flight, so check out these tips. Unfortunately this can be dangerous for your child in the event of turbulence. Some flights can experience extreme bouncing around which could cause your infant to fly out of your grip and hurt their heads on the overhead compartment. The need for safety is even more important if you have a sick baby. Lucky for you and your infant, there is a great solution to this potential for grave injury to your child in the form of a baby flight vest.

If you are going to carry a child in your lap it is important to have a way to keep that infant from flying out of your arms in the event of a turbulent weather, a fairly frequent occurrence. Fortunately there are a number of companies that sell infant flight vests, the most highly respected of these being Baby B'Air.

Baby B'Air
Baby B'Air is a red flight suit that was tested by an FAA approved lab to exceed FAA regulations for safety. It's an ingenious lightweight product that swiftly attaches a child to it's parent through the airplane seat belt, with a cord so that the baby can move around on your lap, but not get further than arms reach.

We have used this product on children from six months to over one year old, and have nothing but praise for it. Not only is this safety device beneficial for all infants who are flying, it fits easily over their heads and onto their bodies which keeps the fuss factor way down. In fact, we have not experienced any baby complaining about the vest. Beause it's lightweight and easy to use, every parent will find this a necessary but painless way to safeguard your childs air safety.
